«Automotive market in Russia» covers results of 2022. It traditionally contains statistics and analytics on production, sales and vehicle parc in our country.

Last year the sales of commercial vehicles (LCV, trucks, buses) came up to 172.3 thousand vehicles, that is 33.1% less than a year ago. The demand for the new passenger cars in Russia decreased by 60.5% to 606.4 thousand vehicles. As for the automotive production, 610.4 thousand vehicles were produced in Russia in 2022, which is 61.3% less than a year ago. Due to geopolitical events in 2022, changes began in the brand structure of new car market. The total share of passenger car sales of domestic and Chinese brands was more than 50%. And trucks from China distinguished by multiple positive sales dynamics.

As before, AUTOSTAT specialists tried to offer you the most complete and qualitative information. Besides the main segments of the automotive parc in Russia (passenger cars, LCV, trucks and buses) the report also contains data by production years in the brand structure as well. In 2022, automotive parc in Russia decreased by 0.3% or 174.7 thousand vehicles up to 53.73 million vehicles. The lion’s share (84.5%) of the parc is generated by passenger cars (45,39 million vehicles). During the year their number decreased by 0.2%. Light commercial vehicles form 7.8% of the total parc or 4.22 million vehicles. Last year, LCV parc decreased by 0.2% as well. Trucks generate 6.9% of the parc or 3.72 million vehicles. The remaining part of the parc (less than 1%) presented by buses with 405.8 thousand vehicles.
