Our report "Automotive Industry In Russia. Results Of 2019, Prospects" contains information on automotive vehicle production in Russia, particularly passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

Besides cumulative data and analysis of the trends in the Russian automotive industry, this report comprises information on each enterprise including last year’s results and production dynamics for the few recent years as well as actual information about the current activity and prospects of development.

1.72 million vehicles were produced in Russia in 2019, that is 2.8% less than a year ago. 

109.4 thousand passenger cars (+17%) and 14.6 thousand trucks (-2.7%) were exported.

In 2019, automotive enterprises in Russia manufactured 1.51 million passenger cars, which is 2.7% less than a year ago. The share of domestic manufactures increased slightly during the year and came up to 23.5% or 355.2 thousand cars. 

So the share of foreign brands came up to 76.5%; that is 1.16 million vehicles in terms of numbers.

AVTOVAZ remains the leader of the Russian automotive industry, having decreased its passenger car production by 6% to 342.3 thousand vehicles in 2019. 

It is followed by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus plant in St. Petersburg with 245 thousand Hyundai and KIA vehicles assembled last year (-0.6%). The models of the enterprise include bestsellers of the Russian market such as the Hyundai Creta crossover, the Hyundai Solaris sedan as well as the KIA Rio sedan and the Rio X-Line cross-hatchback. 

Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad is on the third place with 212.7 thousand foreign cars assembled (+4.7%). 

In 2019, truck enterprises in Russia manufactured 166.2 thousand vehicles, which is 0.2% more than a year ago.  Traditional leader here is Gorky Automobile Plant with 56.3 thousand light and medium-duty vehicles (-6.3%). 

KAMAZ, which is on the second place, decreased its production by 3.7% to 35.3 thousand trucks in 2019.  Ulyanovsk automobile plant, which is the third largest truck manufacturer in Russia, produced 24.4 thousand light commercial vehicles (+15.9%). 

In 2019, Russian enterprises manufactured 41.2 thousand buses, which is 14.8% less than a year ago. 

So, after the slight growth in 2018, decline in the bus production in our country resumed.
