In 2015 new passenger car sales in Russia came up to almost 1.5 million vehicles, which is 36.2% less than a year ago. Despite the continuing sales decrease (-30.5%), LADA is still the market leader with over 260,000 vehicles. Then come the Korean manufactures of KIA (-16.4%) and Hyundai (-10.3%). Each of them sold more than 160,000 vehicles. Last year companies imported 300,000 passenger cars to our country that is twice less than a year ago. On average about 25,000 cars were imported to Russia every month. In 2015 the share of new vehicles was less than 98% of the total import. The leaders here are Japanese Toyota, German Mercedes-Benz and Korean Hyundai, which generate almost half of the total import together. According to AUTOSTAT estimation, in 2015 the average price of a passenger car in the Russian market came up to 1.2 million roubles, that is 20.1% or 200,300 roubles more than a year ago.
