    According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", for the first 9 months of 2018 the volume of import by legal entities of passenger cars (new and used) to Russia was 173.7 thousand units. Moreover, every third car arrived to us from Japan (57.2 thousand units), and every sixth one came from Germany (27.7 thousand units).

In this report commercial vehicle market is traditionally subdivided into segments: light commercial vehicles (LCV), trucks and buses (BUS). We also subdivided trucks into medium-duty (CV) and heavy-duty (HCV) vehicles. There are few reasons for this approach. Firstly, that enables to show the entire situation in the commercial vehicle market in Russia. Secondly, truck as well as bus market structure includes significant number of light commercial vehicles and microbuses, which, according to European classification, belong to LCV segment. Thirdly, according to their gross weight, trucks are subdivided into different types and have different fields of use. Medium-duty trucks (CV) (3.5 -16 tons) are usually used for short-distance cargo transportation, in public and utility services and as a base for superstructures. Heavy-duty trucks (over 16 tons) are often used for long-distance cargo transportation, in large-scale construction, etc.

Besides structure of the Russian market the report includes statistics of LCV, truck and bus sales in Europe. Forecast of the market development during the nearest years is included as separate pages. The significant part of the research comprises profiles of major commercial vehicle market participants in our country. In 2014 commercial vehicle market in Russia came up to about 240,000 vehicles, that is 17.8 % less than a year ago. About 60% of the total market belong to LCV with almost 140,000 vehicles (-15.3%). Heavy trucks generate a quarter of the market or a little more than 60,000 vehicles (-22.1%). The share of CVs is 11.5% of the market or 27,400 vehicles(-16.8%).  About 5% of the sales come from buses (11,400 vehicles; -25.1%).
