Almost a third of SUV cars Chevrolet Niva are sold in Povolghskij region
As it was reported before, on totals of the first six months of 2008 GM – AVTOVAZ realized 29795 cars, including the vested remainder from the last year, (this is on 12, 3% more against the same period of 2007), 27222 out of which were sold at the domestic market, which exceeds the index of the last year on 15,4%. On data of the analytic agency “AUTOSTAT”, the biggest volume of realization of SUV cars Chevrolet Niva in Russia accounts for Povolghskij region – 28%

AVTOVAZ will work with 30 - 40 system suppliers

Toyota increased sales in Russia on 22, 7 %.
The company “Toyota Motor” summed up the totals of sales of Toyota cars for the first six months in Russia in 2008. There were sold 88746 cars through the network of official dealers and partners, which is on 22, 69% more than the index of the same period of 2007 (in 2007 the volume of realization of Toyota constituted 72331 cars).

Fiat Ducato will be localized in Russia at the least on 70%.
The enterprise SOLLERS – Elabuga, which has started production of commercial car Fiat Ducato in April, intends to localize the product at least on 70% and to create a park of suppliers of automotive components on the territory of OEZ “ALABUGA”. As the general director of SOLLERS – Elabuga Adil Shirinov told, now the share of russian components in Fiat Ducato of tatar production is 10%. 12 more russian suppliers supply their production to the factory of Elabuga. The enterprise plans to sign an agreement with 7 more manufacturers of components.

Nissan is seeking for collaboration with AVTOVAZ.
The company Nissan expects that the new alliance Renault and AVTOVAZ will help the japanese carmaker to strengthen the positions at the rapidly growing russian market. This February Renault purchased 25% stock in the capital of AVTOVAZ for 1$ bln and now Renault, together with the direction of AVTOVAZ, elaborates the strategy of development of the automotive giant of Togliatti and its brand LADA. The collaboration of Renault and AVTOVAZ is expected to be similar with the alliance with Nissan, where the french carmaker owns 44%.

Renault brings out cars with diesel engine to the Russian market
The cars Renault, working with diesel fuel, will appear at the russian market in summer 2008. A new Renault Laguna is chosen as the first model for presentation of diesel engines in our country. On the 1st of July dealers have begun to grant applications on it. The next diesel Renault model will be a new cross over Koleos; in further outlook every new Renault model, which appear at our market, will have diesel engines

AVTOVAZ increased the sales during the first half year on 13%
On totals of the first 6 months the dealers of “AVTOVAZ” realized over 322, 6 thsd of LADA cars, which is on 37, 5 thsd cars (13%) more than the same index of the last year. The most salable family of LADA is still “classic”: there were sold 88, 5 thsd cars of LADA 2105 and 2107. The index of the family LADA SAMARA is a bit less: 88, 3 thsd cars.

Until 2010 every fourth russian will have a car
According to forecast of the analytic agency “AUTOSTAT”, until 2010 the provision of the population of Russia with passenger cars will grow to 250 units per 1000 people, if the current tendencies of market remain. It means that every fourth Russian will have a car.

Less than 4% of park of passenger cars in Russia are cars with diesel engines
The russian car manufacturers were not producing passenger cars with diesel engines at all. Now the quantitative diesel oil exists, but it is only available in big cities. That is why the mass appearance of diesel oil is not clearly seen at the russian market. And in many european countries almost a half of cars have a diesel engine.
