Lexus for eight months increased sales in Russia by 17%

Russian Lexus dealers for the first eight months of 2014 increased sales by 16.8% to 11,921 vehicles. As a result, the share of the brand in the falling Russian market reached 0.8% against 0.6% a year before. The most popular Lexus cars in Russia for the first eight months of 2014 have become RX, ES and LX. 

As the press service of Lexus informed the agency "AUTOSTAT", the Russian company was able to increase sales in the falling market, first of all, due to reasonable pricing and flexible model range. "In addition to the competent pricing policy, we build a flexible model line”, - say in the press service of the Lexus. - In particular, due to the launch of the special versions of the models, and thanks to the new models, we try to offer our customers the maximum choice in terms of engines, options and prices. "

Thus, the sales growth of Lexus is provided by the market success of the new generation Lexus IS, the new Lexus GX and special series Lexus RX and ES, developed with the needs of Russian customers. In the first quarter there will be also a new Lexus CT 200h on sale. In September, Russian Lexus dealers start to sell a new compact premium crossover NX. Meanwhile, in recent months a number of premium brands began to show a drop in sales, despite the fact that the segment of premium cars is more resistant to crises. "Unstable exchange rates affect the price growth; other brands raise prices, which had a negative impact on their sales. We have a little more freedom, as we are tied to the exchange rate of the yen, it is a more stable currency”, - commented in the press service of the Lexus. - Experience of 2008 showed that the premium market will not be so much exposed to collapse as mass market of cars. We conduct regular surveys on customer expectations, the results of which show that customers of premium remain confident in the stability of their income and their families even in turbulent economic times. This trend is observed only among customers of premium segment, in the mass-market situation is different. This is another confirmation of our confidence in the future."
