Experts have found out preferences of Russians in used cars

Experts of the analytical center of AAA AUTO, the largest car dealer of Eastern Europe, analyzed the differences in the buying behavior of men and women on the basis of sales of cars in Russia from August of 2013 to August of 2014. The red Hyundai Getz – is the most feminine car, and the black Volkswagen Passat – is the most masculine car in the Russian secondary market for the year. 

Representatives of the male buy used cars 3.3 times oftener than women. Women selected cars with an automatic transmission in 62% cases. Men are more conservative when they are choosing the color of the car, each fifth bought car is - black, one in six - silver. But women like different colors, and they like to buy cars of light (white, blue) and bright colors (red, yellow). An automatic transmission is gaining popularity gradually among Russians, but most of the men still continue to buy the "mechanics" - 51%. The average price of a car that was bought by representatives of the stronger sex is 414,356 rubles, but the women do not want to spend much money, and the average price of cars that were bought by them was 363,092 rubles. 

The best-selling car by men was black Volkswagen Passat. 78% of bought cars of this model by men were sedans, and in 86% of cases they were equipped with automatic transmission, the average price of the car was 555,853 rubles. The best buy car among women was a red Hyundai Getz, 56% of purchased cars of this model were equipped with automatic transmission, in average the fair sex for the car gave 288,952 rubles. 

However, the hatchback was the most popular car body of men in all the other brands. "This fact confirms clearly the strategy of choice of vehicles among men. If they have the opportunity, they would prefer a large and powerful car”, - said the CEO of the company AAA AUTO, Carolina Topolova. – “Women choose generally small, practical and compact cars with a modern design and an automatic transmission. Power or brand is not critical - they are more concerned about the safety and also functionality of the car. "

"Men are traditionally the most active buyers in the secondary market, but it is worth noting that women are becoming savvier in terms of choosing a car. They are no longer afraid to make their own choices and they less likely to shift such an important purchase on the shoulders of men, "- says Caroline Topolova.
