Pirelli has increased its share in the Russian joint venture to 65 %

Italian company Pirelli bought 15 % of Pirelli Tyre Russia - a joint venture with the State Corporation “Rosteh” - for 33.9 million euro at the financial group GHP (earlier Fleming Family & Partners). The share of an Italian company in the joint venture has grown from 50 to 65 %, the share of GHP decreased to 10%. “Rostekh” in the joint venture owned 25 %, according to the newspaper “Vedomosti”. The agreement also provides the call- option mechanism and put- option to sell until 2017 a 15% stake of Pirelli in the joint venture, which is owned by “Rosteh”. Pirelli Tyre Russia includes Voronezh Tyre Plant and Kirov Tyre Plant, which were bought by company in December of 2011 at “Sibur” for 222 million euros.

At the beginning of November, Pirelli has cut its revenue forecast of Russian enterprises. According to the new industrial plan for 2013-2017, Pirelli expects the increase of revenue from two Russian companies to 280 million euros in 2014, and by 2016 - up to 370 million euros. In 2011, Pirelli has predicted that by 2013, revenues of these two companies will be 300 million euros, it will exceed 500 million euros in 2014, and they will start to make a profit in 2014. In 2012, revenue of JV was 244 million euros. However, Russia is still a strategic market for the Italian company.
