Hyundai has become a leader in the car market in Moscow

During 10 months of 2013; it was sold 554.4 thousand new cars in Moscow. According to statistics of the magazine “AutoBusinessReview”, Capital market (excluding indicators of dealerships located in big suburban cities - Podolsk Chekhov and so on) decreased by 7% compared to the same period of the last year.

For the first time, sales leader in Moscow was the Hyundai. Due to growth of 11% the brand was slightly ahead of Kia in January- October, which, on the contrary, has a decrease by 15% (to 47.7 thousand units). Korean duo takes 17 % in the segment of foreign cars in the capital market, outperforming significantly competitors. Third or fourth lines are divided between Renault and Volkswagen, showing similarly mixed trends: German brand lost 16% in the volume, while the French attracted more customers by 8%. Nissan closes the top five, which reduced sales by 15 %.

The most successful results in Moscow, as in Russia as a whole, was demonstrated by premium and Chinese brands. In particular, according to statistics in October, Mercedes-Benz and BMW have entered the Top-10 of the most popular brands, by outstripping Opel and Mitsubishi. The most active growth was observed at Lifan (87%), Subaru (44 %), Geely (44%) and SEAT (32%).
