GAZ Group will deliver its vehicles Ural of new generation to Russian Interior Forces

Plant “Ural” of GAZ Group plans to produce ten new armored vehicles Ural- 4320- BB for Russian Ministry of Interior troops in 2014. The plant testing of new development is being finished at the present time. The vehicle will be the basis for the whole family of high-unified protected tactical vehicles of various wheel formulas for all law enforcement agencies.

New protected vehicle for law enforcement agencies Ural -BB was created on the technical task of the High Command of Russian Interior Ministry troops. As the base was chosen vehicle Ural- 4320 (6x6).

Development of vehicle protection was carried out in “NII steel”, the first samples of security modules were produced here. Free arrangement of the vehicle allows the client to mount variety versions of accommodation and equipment of fighting modules depending on the operational tasks. During the development of the technical specifications, the client take into account the experience of usage of armored vehicles in various conditions, and it was made a number of additional requirements. One of them – is the creation of an armored vehicle with armor module that allows you not to separate the driver from the fighters. The Minivan with armored body can hold up to 17 soldiers with equipment.

The control module has good visibility; the vehicle is equipped with a large armored windscreen. The design used protected fuel tanks with an additional protective shield. There are installed seats in armored module, reducing the dynamic from load explosions. Standard equipment includes air conditioning of vehicles and heater. The vehicle is equipped with a powerful engine JAMZ “Euro -4”.

Another essential requirement, which was implemented during the design of Ural- BB – is the providing of opportunities for the fastest possible evacuation of carried out units from a vehicle. To this end, the vehicle has the side and feed doors, allowing the crew and soldiers to leave quickly the vehicle from either sides or hatches on top of the vehicle. Outward opening hatches and doors are additional shields. The vehicle has a powerful anti-mine protection, 6th grade protection in the front sector of fire and 5th grade on the lateral projections.

According to GAZ Group, Ural- BB doesn’t have analogues and it corresponds by maximum the tasks that were set by the client. In case of installation of the standard weapons, the vehicle can be used instead of the armored vehicle as armored Ural is a certified vehicle and a full member of the traffic that does not require special maintenance of traffic police.

For reference, the plant Ural supplies 250 vehicles to Russian Ministry of Interior troops annually.
