The European car market is growing the second month in a row

Sales of passenger cars in Europe, including the EFTA countries, increased by 4.6 % to 1 million 44 thousand 921 cars in October. According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), the European car market shows growth for the second month in a row that is the first time since September of 2011. Sales of cars in Europe were 10 million 385 thousand 61 unit for the first ten months of 2013 – it is less by 3.1% than a year before.

According to the review of the European car market for October, the largest number of cars among automakers in the European Union was sold by Volkswagen – 134,578 vehicles, growth by 1.4 %, YoY. Ford is in the second place, it has sold 75,534 vehicles (-0.2 %). Renault climbed to third place, which increased sales by 13.3 % to 73,883 units. Peugeot (66,816 units, +1.6 %) and Opel / Vauxhall (62,936 units, +6.1 %) are closing the “Top-five” of leaders.
