Car tires: car owners' preferences" conducted a survey on the choice and operation of winter tires. The results of a survey that was conducted in November showed that 94.2% of respondents “change” their tires for the winter ones and only 5.8% do not have a second set of tires.



Serial assembly of Volkswagen Taigun will start in 2016

Management of German carmaker Volkswagen has decided to start a production assembly of compact crossover Volkswagen Taigun in 2016. Earlier it was reported that the assembly of vehicles will be launched in 2014.

The showed concept crossover Taigun at International Motor Show this year has generated a positive response of experts, writes “Auto-Dealer.ru”.

Recall that the overall length of the prototype is 3859mm, height - 1728mm, width - 1728mm, wheelbase - 2470mm, which is 50mm longer than the city car Volkswagen Up. The internal space accommodates five people and 280 liters of luggage. The luggage capacity increases to 987 liters with the folded rear seats.

In addition, it is decided that Taigun won’t be equipped with four wheel drive, and it will be exclusively front wheel drive. The new model has a three-cylinder 1.0-liter petrol engine TSI with direct fuel injection and turbo charging, developing 110 HP and 175 Nm of torque. Engine will operate only with the five-speed manual 6-speed gearbox.

The car has a top-speed of 186 km per hour with a small mass of 985kg and it can accelerate to 100km/h for 9.2 seconds. Average fuel consumption of the compact car is 4.5 liters per 100km. It is known that Volkswagen Taigun will be assembled at two plants: Left Hand Drive version in Brazil and right-hand drive - in India. Besides, it is considering the possibility of production organizing in Kaluga, Russia.
