Schaeffler started the construction of automotive component plant in Ulyanovsk

The German company Schaeffler, one of the largest manufacturers of automotive components, has started the construction of its own plant in Ulyanovsk. The company will manufacture bearings for trucks and passenger cars, and also engine components.

According to the agency “Interfax-Volga region”, the total investment in the project will be about RUB 2 billion. The plant will be located in the industrial zone “Volga”. The first phase of construction of the plant in the area of 22 hectares is planned to be finished by the company in the middle of 2014. It is planned to create at least 450 new jobs during five years of the project.

The plant will produce, first of all, products for the domestic and international car manufacturers, as well as parts for the rail industry, wrote Avto.Vesti.Ru. In particular, the production of wheel bearings for trucks and passenger cars, clutch, engine components, as well as details of the belt drive will be adjusted in the new plant.
