Kaluga plane Volvo Group produced about 6,000 trucks in 2012

Kaluga plant Volvo Group produced 5,959 trucks for 2012, which is a 17.6% increase on the last year (5,067 vehicles). The CEO of “Volvo Vostok”, Peter Andersson, informed about it and he remarked that it was produced 4,387 vehicles (+17%) under Volvo brand and 1,572 trucks under Renault brand (+19%).
Kaluga plant is the most modern production enterprise of Volvo Trucks. Investments in the production of trucks Volvo and Renault were EUR 120 million. At the present time output of enterprise is delivered in the markets of Russia, Byelorussia and Kazakhstan. Designed capacities of plant allow the production of 10,000 Volvo Trucks and 5,000 Renault Trucks annually.
As noted, 80% of the products manufactured in Kaluga, is rare and it is adapted to the needs of customers. At the present time the plant prepares the launch of new product - the updated model range of Volvo FH family. And in 2014, the plant will produce new models of Renault Trucks, the Russian premiere of which will be in June of 2013.
In addition, in September of 2012 the company Volvo Group announced the plans to invest EUR 90 million in the construction of plant for the production of truck cabins under the brands Volvo and Renault in Kaluga. As the director of Kaluga plant of Volvo Group, Lars Fernskog, said, the new production of welding and painting of cabins will be located next to the plant of Volvo Group truck production and it will start to operate in 2014. Capacity of the enterprise was designed to produce 15,000 cabins a year. In addition, according to Peter Andresson, the company will invest EUR 53 million in the localization of components and joints in Russia.
