KAMAZ and Marcopolo launched the production of buses in Neftekamsk


Neftekamsk plant started the assembly of buses of small class Bravis and it is going to produce 20 vehicles till the end of year. It is the result of the joint project of KAMAZ and Brazilian concern “Marcopolo”. 

Bravis – is eight meters bus with 21 seats and the total number of passengers could reach 50 persons. The basic chassis KAMAZ-3297 and Brazilian body are used. The model meet requirements of Euro-4, it is equipped with components of the biggest world producers: an engine Cummins, a transmission ZF, an axle Daimler, brake system Knorr-Bremse.

The new product that has original design was already certified in accordance with requirements of legislation of Russian Federation. The introduction of Brazilian technologies in “NEFAZ” will be continued: the joint venture “KAMAZ-Marco” is going to produce up to 500 buses the next year. 

It will be recalled that KAMAZ and the company Marcopolo S.A. signed an agreement about the joint venture by production and sales of buses Marcopolo – “KAMAZ-Marco” in September of 2011. The main aim of joint venture that was created on parity basements of KAMAZ and Marcopolo is the production and sales of buses Marcopolo on KAMAZ chassis that meet requirements of Euro-4 and satisfy passenger transportation modern requirements in Russian Federation and CIS countries. Buses will be produced in facilities of subsidiary of KAMAZ – NEFAZ – in Neftekamsk, Bashkortostan. The joint venture is going to produce 3,000 buses per a year and it will reach the designed capacity in 2016.
