The joint venture “GM Uzbekistan” is going to increase the export by 21% in 2013


chevrolet cobalt.jpgThe joint venture «GM Uzbekistan» is going to increase the export of passenger cars by 21% in 2013 – to 142 thousand cars against 117,5 thousand units that were expected by the results of 2012. Representatives of AK “Uzavtoprom” informed about it and they remarked that the company is going to increase the production and export rate owing to the production increasing of small car Chevrolet Spark and sedan Lacetti and also mastering of production of sedan of business class Cobalt.

According to data of AK “Uzavtoprom”, the total production volume is planned to be increased to 274 thousand units in the joint venture “GM Uzbekistan” in 2013, therewith, the plant is going to sell 132 thousand cars in the internal market.

It was informed earlier that by the results of 2011 the production increased by 2,1% in the enterprise in compare with 2010 and it was 221445 units. This figure included the export volume, which was 114 thousand cars (the growth was 1,3 times), informed “Praim” agency.

The designed capacity of plant is 250 thousand cars per a year at the present time. Today the enterprise produces eight brands of cars: four sedan – Nexia, Lacetti, Malibu and Cobalt, two small cars – Matiz and Spark, SUV Captiva and micro bus Damas.
