TOP-10 of the most popular cross-versions in Russia

The oldest cars are in Kamchatka, the youngest cars are in Tatarstan

According to the last research of Russian car parc structure, which was implemented by analytic agency AUTOSTAT, the average age of Russian car parc was a little bit less than 12 years as of the beginning of 2012. Thereby, the oldest car parc is concentrated in Far East. The anti-rating is headed by Kamchatka, where the average age of exploited passenger cars is 19,5 years. The TOP-10 of “anti-rating” is also presented by Sakhalin region (18,6 years), Kaliningrad region (18,5 years), Jewish Autonomous Region (18,4 years), Primorsk region (18,2 years), Magadan region (18 years), Amur region (17,2 years), Trans-Baikal Territory (16,7 years), Altai region (15,9 years) and Republic of Sakha (15,9 years).

And the youngest parc is belonged to Tatarstan, where the average age of passenger cars is only 8,1 years. The second place is occupied by Perm region – 8,6 years and Udmurtia is on the third place, the average age here is a little bit more than 9 years. Moscow is on the fourth place but the average age of Moscow parc corresponds to the European level, remarked analysts of AUTOSTAT agency. And St. Petersburg got only the 14th place – the average age of parc is only 10,4 years there. Samara region (9,2 years), Moscow region (9,4 years), Tyumen region (9,6 years), Chuvashia (9,9 years), Volgograd region (9,9 years) are also in TOP-10 of the youngest car parcs and Arkhangelsk region closes the row with the indicator of 10 years.

“The car parcs of Far East and Kaliningrad were added not due to the sales of new cars but due to the import of used foreign cars, so parcs are older”, -  commented Sergey Tselikov, director of analytic agency AUTOSTAT. Car parcs of Tatarstan and Volga regions are younger as citizens of these regions change Russian cars to new ones more actively. “Parc of Volga region, for example, consists of 2/3 of domestic cars”, - added the expert.

The average age of parcs of Moscow and St. Petersburg decreases, as more people buy new foreign cars. “The brand structure of parc influences on the average age of parc in a region”, - remarked Sergey Tselikov.
