Sales of cars of super luxury class grow quicker than the market

Sales of cars of super luxury class in 2011 grew quicker than the whole car market, in accordance with the statistics of sellers.

As newspaper “Vedomosti” wrote, sales of Bentley in Russia increased by 45% to 164 cars. Mercury Automotive, the dealer of Bentley and the Russian distributor of Ferrari, Maserati and Bugatti (this brand was not sold in Russia in 2011), increased sales of cars with the similar dynamics in the previous year, thereby Bentley – with the outstripping dynamics, informed the representative of company. In 2010 Mercury sold 227 of new cars, including 129 of Bentley, 32 of Ferrari and 66 of Maserati. Rolls-Royce also didn’t reveal precise sales of cars in Russia (it is known that it is two-valued figure) but they remarked that sales of brand in 2011 in Russia increased more than twice in compare with the previous year – Russian car market became the biggest one in the continental Europe. British Aston Martin has the less dynamics: Russian distributor of brand – Burevestnik Group - sold 28 cars in 2011 against 27 cars of 2010.

As experts remarked the world market of sport cars (two-door cars that could accelerate to 250 km/h and more, with the price about 100 thousand Euros) didn’t come back to the pre-crisis level of 2007, when it was sold more than 37 thousand of these cars: it was sold 26 thousand cars in 2011. But the demand for these cars in Russia is limited: many Russians buy them abroad, the weather and road conditions prevent the market development. According to estimation of experts, the capacity of Russian market of super cars (two-door cars that could accelerate to 300 km/h, with the price much more than 100 thousand Euro) is less than 200 cars per a year. It could be added 20-30% to this figure - foreign purchases of Russians, who spend some time in London or in the south of France.
