What characteristics of SUV models do Russians prefer?


Russian market of LCV fell down at first since 2009


 Sales of light commercial vehicles were 14253 units in Russia by the results of March and it was less by 0,9% than in the previous year. As analysts of AUTOSTAT agency remarked, Russian market of LCV showed the sales decreasing in March at first since December of 2009. By the words of experts, the negative result was caused by growth rates of this segment decreasing, which superimposed on high sales results of March of the previous year, when it was fixed the best growth for the whole year – by 72,3%. It should be also remarked that in difference from domestic brands that decreased sales by 5,9%, foreign light commercial vehicles showed the growth by 10,1%. By the results of the first two months of 2012 Russian market of LCV increased by 8,6% to 34669 vehicles. Thereby, about two third of sales of light commercial vehicles (64,6%) in Russia were LCV of domestic brands, the rest 35,4% were foreign vehicles.

GAZ still dominates in the Russian market of LCV – it was sold 6942 vehicles of this Russian brand (-0,6%) in the previous month and it occupied 48,7% of market. UAZ is on the second place, which decreased sales of light commercial vehicles by 1,9% to 2142 units. The leader of foreign LCV is still Volkswagen, which sold 1111 vehicles and it is more by 25,1% than in the previous year. Then Peugeot follows with the indicator of 1040 of sold light commercial vehicles (+51,6%). Ford still closes the row of five leaders – sales of American brand increased by 92,1% and it was 847 vehicles.
