Nissan is going to increase sales in Russia to 200 thousand cars in 2012


Japanese car producer Nissan Motor is going to increase sales in the Russian market by 10% in 2012 and it is going to sell up to 200 thousand cars due to the sales of new low-cost sedan Almera, which will be produced in capacities of AutoVAZ from November of this year. The General manager of subdivision “Nissan Vostok”, Francois Gupil Buye, informed about it and he also added that the company is going to occupy 5,5% of Russian car market by the results of the year.

Concerning new sedan Nissan Almera in the capacities of AutoVAZ, production capacities of new low-cost model will be about 60 thousand cars per a year, wrote “Finmarket” agency. The representative of company informed also that in 2012 Nissan plant in St. Petersburg is going to produce about 50 thousand cars against 43 thousand ones of the previous year.

According to estimations of Nissan, Russian car market could increase to 3 million of new cars in 2012 and it could reach 4 million cars by 2014-2015. “In 2010-2011 the market recovered. By 2014-2015 the market could reach approximately 4 million cars”, - said Francois Gupil Buye.

By the results of 2011 sales of Nissan in Russia increased by 75% and they were more than 138 thousand cars.
