The third part of components market is occupied by import

Gaining momentum after the crisis, domestic car industry needs spare parts. Almost the third of components are imported and new productions, also in Volga region, will help to increase localization.

As newspaper “Vedomosti” wrote, the problem of qualitative spare parts is especially urgent for assemblers of foreign cars in Russia. “Localization of components production is very slow”, - stated the expert of BKS, Nikolai Solabuto. By his estimation, about 30% of spare parts in domestic market belong to import. ”Components of Russian production could not compete with foreign analogous by quality”, - said analyst of Ernst & Young in Russia, Ivan Bonchev. But on his opinion, “Volga region has all necessary resources and production sites for components productions creation”. Domestic producers of components upgraded also production this year.

According to data of regional Ministry of industry, more than 300 companies – producers of components work in Samara region, among them 51 companies – average and huge. Main consumers are AutoVAZ and GM-AutoVAZ. According to data of regional Ministry of industry of Nizhny Novgorod, about 200 of components producers work there at the present time. The history of components production in Tatarstan region only starts. The joint venture of Ford and Sollers for production of passenger cars and commercial vehicles and also SUVs with a capacity up to 350 thousand vehicles per a year was launched in the territory of special economic zone “Alabuga” on October 1st.
