New Hyundai Solaris saloon car, which was on sale since the beginning of February, became the third by popularity foreign car in Russia and it ceded to Renault Logan and Ford Focus. As the representative of Hyundai Motor CIS remarked, the company is going to reach the absolute leadership with Solaris model in the segment of low-cost saloon cars of Russian production. As it was informed earlier, the number of orders for Hyundai cars exceeded 14 thousand units, in connection with it St. Petersburg plant Hyundai started to work in two shifts since April 4th and it permitted to increase the production volume to 9 thousand cars a month and so to decrease the waiting term of new car.
As it was remarked in the review of Russian car market for March, the rating of 25 models, which are the most saleable in Russia, is headed by Lada Kalina the second consecutive month with indicator of 13084 cars and it was twice more than in the previous year (+106%). As the representatives of AUTOVAZ remarked, the scrappage program, which was the main catalyst in the Russian market, stimulated the commercial sales. AUTOVAZ was going to shift the demand from classic models to the contemporary cars and the sales by families showed that they managed to do it. So, the second place is kept by Lada Priora the sales of this model increased by 29% to 11541 cars. In connection with Lada 2105 production stopping and transferring of Lada 2107 production to IzhAuto, the classic models remained on the third place with the result of 10223 of sold cars (+48%). The fourth place is still occupied by Lada Samara, the sales of which increased by 5% to 8315 units. At first this year the most saleable foreign car of month became Ford Focus, the sales of which increased by 36% to 7934 units. And Renault Logan was sold in amount of 7115 units (+32%) and by the results of I quarter it kept the considerable advantage in compare with Focus. Meanwhile, the third by popularity foreign car in Russia became Hyundai Solaris in March, the sales of which were 6762 cars and it was twice more than in February, when it came for a sale. The most saleable SUV is still Lada 4x4, which was sold in amount of 5020 units (+26%). Among the imported models Daewoo Nexia is still a leader with an indicator of 4929 cars (+84%). Chevrolet Niva closes the row of five leaders, the sales of which were 4101 of sold cars (+32%). It should be also remarked that the classic estate car Lada 2104 of IzhAuto production had a little bit less result in compare with Chevrolet Niva and by the results of March it set its own record for the last 5 years - 4061 cars.
