In 2009 41% of new foreign cars were realized by Moscow dealers

According to the data presented in the monthly overview of December of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", in 2009 40.9% from the total realization volume of new foreign cars by official Russian dealers fell on the share of Moscow. The year before by 3.3% less (37.6%) fell on the capital, analysts state. According to Sergey Tselikov, the director of the agency "AUTOSTAT", there was share growth of Moscow as this year the capital car market "declined" a bit less (-46%) than regional sites (-55%).
According to the data of the agency, this year 10.5% from the total sales volume of new foreign cars fell on the second market of St.-Petersburg that approximately corresponds to the similar index of last year. Sergey Tselikov remarks that Ekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region remain the largest regional market of new foreign cars. 3.2% from the total sales volume of foreign cars fall on the share of this region though the market drop here is more notable (-63%) rather than in other large regions. The analyst does not exclude that in 2010 the Krasnodar Territory can bypass the Sverdlovsk region as a little more than 3% of the Russian market of foreign cars fall on its share.
The Tyumen region (2.9%), the Rostov region (2.8%), the Nizhny Novgorod region (2.6%) and the Samara region (2.6%) as well as Tatarstan (2.6%) and Bashkortostan (2.0%) are also in the first ten regions-leaders. According to Sergey Tselikov, more than 70% of realization of new cars by official dealers of foreign companies falls on these 10 regions-leaders now. Thus registration of cars according to regions of Russia is wider. It is connected with the fact that from 25 to 40% of realization of foreign cars (depending on a city) falls on so-called "transit" sales when the car is registered in other region.
