    In 2018, sales of passenger cars and LCV in our country, according to the AEB, amounted to 1 million 800 591 units - more by 12.8% than in 2017. At the end of December of the last year, there was also a positive trend (+ 5.6% to 175,240 cars).



AVTOVAZ again suggests suppliers to reduce prices

At the meeting with suppliers which passed yesterday the president of AVTOVAZ Igor Komarov suggested them to reduce prices by 7-10%, otherwise the plant cannot execute the production program of 2010.
According to Mr. Komarov, AVTOVAZ exhausted possibilities of cutting-down of costs and waits for retaliatory steps from suppliers. If prices are not lowered then AVTOVAZ cannot execute the production program of 2010 which makes 450 thousand cars and 40 thousand car kits for external assembly. Such production plan is a condition of granting of state help and if it is not executed then the present top management of the enterprise should retire.
The newspaper "Vedomosti" remarks that it not the first attempt of AVTOVAZ to cut expenses on purchases of components. At the beginning of July the vice-president for purchases Damir Kashapov already suggested suppliers to reduce prices by 10%. Some of them could do it but it was impossible to draw it from the majority of suppliers as they work with negative profitability. If present suppliers cannot solve their own problems then AVTOVAZ will address more successful companies and it already happens, they say at the car plant.
In its turn AVTOVAZ plans to pay off debts to suppliers till the end of the year, both at the expense of the bridge-credit of Sberbank received recently and at the expense of internal funds. The agency "Finmarket" writes that the delayed debts of the plant for supply of components as of the midpoint of November make about 4.5 billion rubles while the total sum of the debt is 12 billion rubles.
According to the data of the agency "AUTOSTAT", now there are more than 300 suppliers in the base of AVTOVAZ who are carrying out deliveries directly to the conveyor and 900 sub-suppliers. 65 - 70% of suppliers of the conveyor are monopolists according to the nomenclature of supplies and more than 90% of all defects fall on component manufactures of 60 enterprises.
