Almost a half of foreign makes in Russia are Japanese brands

According to data of the regular research, made by the analytic agency AUTOSTAT, almost a half (47, 1%) of park of passenger foreign cars in Russia accounts for the share of cars of Japanese brands. The leaders among them are Toyota (21, 3%), Nissan (8, 4%) and Mitsubishi (5, 8%).
35, 7% of park of foreign cars account for the share of the European brands. We should note that Ford was included into this group of brands, because the majority of models of this make are coming to Russia from the European concern. By the way, 6, 5% of park of foreign cars account for the share of Ford; it is also the leader by number of registered cars in the central part of Russia.
The second position among the European brands is occupied by Volkswagen with the share of park 5, 5%; it is now the leader at the north western part of our country. Opel is catching up with Volkswagen: 4, 7% of park of foreign cars in Russia account for its share. The analysts mark out Mercedes-Benz (3, 9%) and Audi (3, 8%) among other European brands with big park on the territory of our country.
The specialists of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT say that owing to fast expansion of the last years, the share of cars of Korean brands grew already to 10, 5%. Among them are: Hyundai (4,6%) and Daewoo (3,4%). The share of Kia (2, 3%) is a bit less.
Only 5, 9% of the Russian park of foreign cars account for American brands. The majority of them accounts on the leader of sales (out of foreign cars) for the last two years Chevrolet. 4, 9% of park of foreign cars accounts on it, and only 1% - for other American makes.
The analysts note that the majority of brands in the Western part of the country are European, Korean and American brands; the East is practically dominated by the Japanese makes. The analysts also establish that despite a big amount of information of the last years, the park of cars of Chinese brands is little now. 0, 5% from the total number of foreign cars in Russia account on their share.
