At the beginning of 2009 Nissan, Chevrolet and Toyota were the biggest importers

As the analytic agency �AUTOSTAT� reported before, in the first quarter of 2009 there were imported 148,5 thsd of passenger cars to Russia, which is almost in three times less than in January � February of 2008 (436, 5 thsd units). The main volume of import (97%) accounted on the share of new cars. The import of �second � hand� cars practically reduced.
The specialists of the agency �AUTOSTAT� note that at the beginning of 2009 such makes as Nissan (24373 units), Chevrolet (15020 units) and Toyota (14799 units) imported the majority of cars. The volume of import of Nissan cars decreased in two times against the last year; the volume of import of Chevrolet � in 2, 5 times; but the import of Toyota cars decreased in over four times. Such a significant fall (in 4 times and more) is seen by brands Ford, Mazda and Honda.
There is one foreign make, whose deliveries grew in the first quarter of 2009 � KIA (10104 units, +41%). This is obviously connected with problems at the assembly enterprises in Ighevsk and Kaliningrad. The deliveries of cars of makes Infiniti, Cadillac and Hummer to Russia grew as well. The analysts of �AUTOSTAT� also noted a stable level of deliveries of Audi (+0, 1%) and a little fall of import of Peugeot (-9, 3%).
