Since the 1st May Ford will increase the prices in Russia by 17%

Ford intends to increase the prices on its cars in Russia since the 1st May of 2009, already for the fourth time. We should note that the future rise of prices of cars Ford will be the biggest one since the beginning of the year � on average by 17%. Meanwhile the rise of prices in January, February and April was on average by 5%. So, taking into consideration the rise of prices in May, the increase of prices of cars Ford since the beginning of the year will be 32%.
So, the models Focus and Mondeo of Russian production will be more expensive by 9%, as well as Escape and Transit of production of 2009, Fiesta, Fusion, Focus, C-MAX and Escape of production of 2008. The prices of Fiesta, Fusion, C-MAX, Kuga, S-MAX and Galaxy of 2009 model�s year could be increased by 18%. The biggest increase of prices (+25%) is foreseen at Explorer of 2008 - 2009 model� year.
According to opinion of the president and director of Ford Russia Nigel Brackenbery, the increase of prices is caused by devaluation of rubble, because the main costs of the company are in euro. He did not exclude the possibility of further rise of prices and noted that there will be offered attractive credit programs of Ford and special actions.
