Totals of sales of new cars for March in Italy allow to say that the reconstruction of its market will be started (right after a significant fall). On data, got by the agency AUTOSTAT at the Italian association of national car manufacturers (ANFIA), in March 2009 there were registered 214 218 of new cars, which is by 0, 2% more than the same index of the last year. This result could be estimated positively on the background of rather significant fall in January (- 32, 2%) and in February (- 24, 1%). On totals of the first quarter of 2009 there were sold 538 720 passenger cars in Italy, which is by 19, 1% less than the same index of the last year.
We should note that the Italian government, as well as those of other European countries, support the automotive market. At the beginning of the year there was undertaken a whole range of antirecessionary measures that stimulated the purchase of new cars. The specialists of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT note that three Italian brands had positive dynamics in March - FIAT (+3, 5%), ALFA ROMEO (+35, 5%) and LANCIA (+6, 6%). The following makes showed a good growth: FORD (+33, 8%), PEUGEOT (+14, 3%), SUZUKI (+21, 5%) and TOYOTA (+18, 9%), CHEVROLET (46, 2%) and HYUNDAI (+135, 2%).
