The choice of the car owner: the official dealer or an independent service station?

Russians prefer foreign cars

Foreign cars gain the preferences of Russians. This conclusion was made by specialists of All Russian Center of Study of Public Opinion after getting the results of a poll. So, in 2006 Russians chose foreign cars more often than a domestic one (54%), only 39% preferred a foreign car. But now 49% of respondents out of number of people, planning to buy a car in the nearest future (115 among all Russians), will most likely buy a foreign car and only 22% - a domestic one. 24% of respondents plan to buy a new foreign car; the same number of respondents wants to buy a second hand car. Only 12% plan to buy a domestic car; 10% - a second hand car.
The share of people, planning to buy a car but who has not yet made a choice, grew in four times: from 7% to 29%. This is probably caused by an instable economical situation, currencies rate and growth of prices of foreign cars. Russians, who plan to purchase a car, intend to spend from 6 to 10 thsd USD (every fifth respondent gives such answer 20%). Almost every 10th respondent (12%) want to spend from 11 to 20 thsd USD for a car. There are rare answers that the respondents plan to spend from 21 to 30 thsd USD for a car (6%), from 30 to 50 thsd USD (3%), finally only 1% - over 50 thsd USD. 40% of respondents gave no answer.
