Sales of cars in Japan reduced in February by 24, 4 %

Registration of new passenger cars in Japan constituted 324, 5 thsd units in February in 2009. This is by 24, 4% less than for the same period of the last year. In total, for the first two months of the current year there were realized 580, 6 thsd cars in Japan, which is by 22, 5% lee than for the same period of the last year. These data were given for the analytic agency AUTOSTAT in the Japanese association of car manufacturers. (JAMA).
Specialists of the agency AUTOSTAT note that the biggest fall of sales at the inside market is seen at Mazda (-36, 4%). It is followed by Mitsubishi (-34, 8%) and Toyota (-32, 3%). At the same time, sales of Nissan and Honda reduced by 27, 9% and 19, 7%. The manufacturers of cars in the segment Mini are the most stable against crisis the companies Daihatsu and Suzuki, whose fall of sales constituted only 5, 3% and 9, 2%.
The analysts note that the decrease of volumes of sales in the segment Mini is the minimal one 8, 7%. The segment of city cars (according to Japanese classification Small) decreased by 25, 5%, the upper segment of market (Standard) fell by 40, 7%.
