In which districts of the Russian Federation is there high car ownership per 1000 people?

There were sold 240 thsd of new foreign cars in Uralskij district

The total volume of sales in four regions of the Uralskij Federal district (UFD) constituted almost 240 thsd of foreign cars on totals of 2008, which is by 28% more than in 2007. Nearly 11, 3% from the total volume or realization of new foreign cars in Russia account for the share of Uralskij district.
The specialists of the analytic agency AUTOSTAT note that the biggest volume of sales of foreign cars in this district account for Sverdlovsk region. During the last year the realization of foreign cars constituted almost 100 thsd units. In Tyumen region the official dealers sold nearly by 20% less new cars (77, 2 thsd units). The volume of realization by dealers in Chelyabinsk constituted 57, 2 thsd of foreign cars. In Kurgan region, where the dealer networks of foreign car manufacturers are not so developed, there were realized only nearly 5 thsd of new cars.
The analysts note that the leading positions at Uralskij district belong to Toyota. It is on the first place of ratings in such cities as Ekaterinburg, Tyumen and Surgut. In Chelyabinsk the competitor for brand Toyota is Chevrolet, in Magnitogorsk Renault. The analysts note the following new foreign cars, popular in the UFD: Ford, Hyundai, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Honda, Opel and Skoda. The analysts also note that since the beginning of crisis, the sales of foreign cars in Uralskij district started to decrease fast than in whole Russian. So, according to information of the monthly overview of the automotive market of Russia, the decrease of realization of foreign cars in UFD constituted 41% against 28%in the whole country. This could be probably explained by concentration of industrial enterprises there, which has suffered under crisis most of all.
