The Lipetsk Motorinvest plant, which produces Evolute electric cars, can produce 12–14 thousand cars in 2024, depending on demand dynamics. Sergei Mamontov, Deputy General Director for Production at Motorinvest, reported this to the TASS agency, adding that since the launch of production in September 2023, about 3 thousand electric vehicles have rolled off the production line of the enterprise.
In addition, he did not rule out that Motorinvest will begin production of cars with an internal combustion engine (ICE), but did not disclose possible dates and models. Let us remind that the Evolute brand’s product line currently includes the i-PRO sedan, i-JOY and i-SKY crossovers. Since its inception in September 2022, the brand has become the absolute leader in the segment of all electric cars officially available for purchase in Russia.
At the end of ten months of 2023, Evolute electric cars sold 1,546 copies. By the end of 2023, the Evolute lineup will be complemented by two more new products: the i-VAN minivan and the premium i-JET sports crossover, the production of which will also be organized at the Motorinvest plant in the Lipetsk region. The production cycle of the enterprise includes welding, painting, assembly (CKD). At this stage of project development, large-knot assembly (SKD) is performed.
The maximum productivity of the plant exceeds 100 thousand electric vehicles per year (for painting production). The company's investments until 2032 will exceed 13 billion rubles. During this period, Motorinvest plans to produce 242 thousand electric vehicles and reach a localization level of 5,000 points: the bulk of the parts, including electric motors and traction batteries, will be Russian.
