In October 2023, Russians bought almost 490 thousand used cars. As experts of the agency AUTOSTAT noted, the volume of the secondary market in our country firstly for six months amounted to less than half a million cars. Recall that in the period from May to September of this year in Russia monthly it was bought more than 500 thousand used cars, and in August this figure reached a maximum (551.3 thousand vehicles) and became a record since November 2021.
But since the autumn, the secondary market has been on the decline - in September, its volume decreased by 8% in compare with August. And in October, used cars were already bought by 4% less than in September. However, if we compare the October indicator of the used car market with that of a year ago (in October 2022), there is a growth of 12%. For 10 months of 2023, residents of the Russian Federation purchased 4.82 million used cars. This is 22% more than in January-October last year.
