Russian Geely dealers sold 8,383 cars in August, which is 2.9 times more in compare with the same period last year. At the end of eight months of 2023, 49,849 Geely crossovers and SUVs were sold in Russia, which is 3.7 times higher than the same period of last year.
As a result, Geely took fourth place in sales among all automakers in Russia, and the brand's market share was 8.2% versus 3.2% a year earlier. Experts from the AUTOSTAT agency report this with reference to data from PPK JSC* and taking into account their own segmentation. The most popular Geely model in the Russian market in August was the compact crossover Coolray with 3,009 vehicles (+88.2%).
Second place went to the Geely Atlas PRO crossover, which was chosen by 2,002 buyers (an increase of 2.7 times). The third result was shown by the mid-size crossover Geely Monjaro – 1,759 cars sold. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in September official Geely dealers in Russia began sales of the Belgee X50 compact crossover. This model is based on the Geely Coolray and since July 2023 it has been produced at the BelGee plant instead for the markets of Russia and Belarus.
