The Ministry of Industry and Trade will buy LADA Aura cars for the needs of officials

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation plans to buy LADA Aura cars, the production of which AVTOVAZ should launch in the second half of 2024, for the needs of officials. The TASS agency was informed about it by the department's press service. Earlier, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Viktor Evtukhov said that the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin to replace cars for officials with foreign ones will be carried out unquestioningly. We should recall that during the Eastern Economic Forum, the head of state announced that purchases of domestically produced cars for officials will begin soon.

Previously, Vladimir Putin instructed officials to switch to domestic cars; the corresponding report should be submitted on February 1, 2024. Let us remind you that the new extended LADA Aura sedan is based on the Vesta model. The new product is positioned as a car, including for officials, and is aimed at government orders. The car may also be interesting as a taxi in the comfort class and above. Thus, rear row passengers received an additional 25 cm of free space. The interior is made of Russian-made genuine leather, and a premium audio system is installed. In addition, the car is equipped with a 1.8-liter engine producing 122 hp. and automatic transmission.

As AVTOVAZ President Maxim Sokolov said earlier, the cost of the new LADA Aura car will be significantly higher than 2 million rubles, as it is a premium class car. According to the head of the development department of the Fresh automobile marketplace Denis Reshetnikov, the extended LADA Aura sedan will be offered to vehicle parcs of government agencies at all levels for import substitution of foreign cars. Most likely, the car will not be low-cost, so it will be produced in limited quantities for government orders.
