In St. Petersburg, the most common brand of passenger cars remains the domestic LADA - as in Moscow. Experts from the analytical agency AUTOSTAT found this out by examining the size of the St. Petersburg vehicle parc based on the situation as of July 1, 2023. Thus, in St. Petersburg in the summer, about 2 million passenger cars were registered, among which more than 12% were LADA (236 thousand vehicles).
The TOP-3 of brands of the Northern capital's passenger car fleet also included the Korean KIA and the German Volkswagen, whose shares are 7.8% and 7.2%, respectively. In quantitative terms, this corresponds to 152 thousand vehicles and 140 thousand vehicles. Almost 7% of the total belonged to Hyundai (6.9%; 135.5 thousand vehicles). The TOP 5 of the brand rating also includes the French Renault (6.2%; 121.6 thousand vehicles).
At the same time, the Hyundai Solaris is the leader in the model rating - there are more than 51 thousand such cars in St. Petersburg. Ford Focus took the second place (50 thousand vehicles). Next in the ranking is the Volkswagen Polo (48.9 thousand vehicles). KIA Rio (48.9 thousand vehicles) and Skoda Octavia (37.9 thousand vehicles) are in the top five of most common passenger cars in the St. Petersburg parc.
