The market capacity of spare parts for foreign cars increased by 28%

As part of the preparation of the updated report "The market capacity of auto components and spare parts for passenger cars in Russia", the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" found out that by the end of 2022, the capacity of the secondary market of auto parts for foreign cars amounted to 21.5 billion USD, and 6.2 billion USD Russians spent on spare parts for cars of domestic brands. Meanwhile, in 2018, the figures were much lower: the capacity of the secondary market for spare parts for foreign cars was 16.8 billion USD, for Russian cars - 5.6 billion USD.

The info graphic clearly demonstrates how the figures have changed for the last five years (+28% for auto components of foreign cars and +10.2% for domestic cars). In other words, the Russians began to spend more money on the purchase of spare parts and components for passenger cars, and the owners of foreign cars suffered from the process of increasing the cost of spare parts to a greater extent. In the updated report, calculations were made of the capacity of the secondary market and by groups of spare parts - both in monetary and quantitative terms.

Separately, the market capacity is decomposed by brands, regions and its forecast for 2023 is presented. The report also contains information on the production of passenger cars in the Russian Federation, imports, sales, the fleet, the stages of the formation of the auto components market and its prospects. A special section is devoted to the characteristics of companies selling spare parts.
