KAMAZ localized the flagship K5 tractor by 70%

At present, the localization of trucks of K5 generation is more than 70%, which exceeds the average figure in the world practice of the truck industry (about 60%). According to the portal Inkazan.ru in the scientific and technical center of KAMAZ, some complex components have not been localized in Russia yet, the plant buys them from friendly countries. This is due to the long period of development of competencies to create high-quality products. At the moment, work continues to achieve 100% localization of production and to search for replacement suppliers from unfriendly countries. Recall that during 2022, the company's specialists worked on the localization of imported components, a lot of work was done with alternative Russian suppliers and suppliers from friendly countries to replace more than two thousand positions.

As a result, in February 2023, serial production of KAMAZ-54901 vehicles based on a new component base, independent of supplies from unfriendly countries, was launched at the car plant. During the year, it is planned to expand the model range of localized K5 vehicles with improved consumer characteristics due to heavy dump trucks KAMAZ-6595 and KAMAZ-65951. The new version of tractor has improved technical characteristics. The vehicle is equipped with modified cooling systems, neutralization, electrical equipment, on-board information system, cab suspension and all heavy trucks. On the new K5 vehicle, the automatic transmission, drive axle, pneumatic system, and other components have been replaced. In addition, the updated model has improved ride smoothness and reduced fuel consumption.

An additional soundproofing layer is also provided on the cab doors - it will provide more comfortable conditions for the driver.
