UAZ will arrange the assembly of cars in Cuba

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant plans to launch a screwdriver assembly of cars in Cuba. This decision was made following negotiations between representatives of UAZ and Cuban enterprises, Izvestia newspaper writes, citing its own sources. Cuban side is primarily interested in UAZ Profi cars, as well as ambulances created on the basis of Buchanka. The first lot of car kits will go to Cuba in July-August 2023. It is also planned to create service centers for the repair and maintenance of UAZ vehicles in the republic.

Recall that Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant resumed serial deliveries of cars to Cuba in March 2019 after UAZ Patriot and Pickup SUVs, the UAZ Profi light truck successfully passed tests at the Institute of Transport of Cuba. Over the entire history of exports, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has supplied more than 30 thousand vehicles to this republic, which are used in the army, police, medicine and various sectors of the national economy.
