KAMAZ will release new K5 generation dump trucks

KAMAZ, which in February 2023 began the production of KAMAZ-54901 mainline tractors on a new component base that does not depend on supplies from unfriendly countries, this year plans to bring to the market not only truck tractors, but also heavy dump trucks of the new K5 family. This was announced by the chief designer - director of KAMAZ Research and Development Center, Evgeny Makarov.

According to the publication Za Rulem, we are talking, in particular, about KAMAZ-65952 dump truck with a 6x6 wheel formula and KAMAZ-65953 four-axle vehicle, which KAMAZ tested earlier, and now the models will have to switch to a new component base. The same applies to the three-axle truck tractor: KAMAZ-65956 should expand the family started by the two-axle KAMAZ-54901.

Recall that in 2022, the efforts of KAMAZ specialists were aimed at the development and production of sanction-resistant versions of vehicles. A large-scale work was carried out on import substitution and localization of components. Only for KAMAZ-54901 tractor with improved characteristics, which was the first to be put on the conveyor, KAMAZ workers had to master more than two thousand positions.
