Volkswagen announced the sale of Russian assets to the dealer "AVILON"

German auto concern Volkswagen has completed the sale of its Russian assets, including the car plant in Kaluga, to the structure of AVILON dealer, Art-Finance.

Volkswagen Group completed the sale of its shares in Volkswagen Group Rus LLC, including subsidiaries (Volkswagen Components and Services LLC, Scania Leasing LLC, Scania Finance LLC, Scania Insurance LLC) to the structure of Russian dealer Avilon "- Art-Finance LLC," the automaker said in a statement.

As noted, the transaction was approved by the Russian authorities, it includes production facilities in Kaluga, the importer's infrastructure (distribution business and after-sales services), as well as warehousing and financial services with all employees associated with it. Earlier it became known that the value of transaction of Russian assets of Volkswagen auto concern to AVILON dealer holding will be 125 million euros.

Recall that in March 2022, local production and import of Volkswagen and Skoda cars to our country were stopped, but the brand was not announced to leave the Russian market. Meanwhile, in July 2022, Volkswagen Group Rus closed its office in Nizhny Novgorod and left the production site at GAZ. The plant in Kaluga produced Volkswagen Tiguan crossover, Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Rapid liftbacks. At the facilities of GAZ Group, contract assembly of Volkswagen Taos, Skoda Kodiaq and Karoq crossovers, as well as Skoda Octavia liftback was carried out.
