AVTOVAZ sold the 100,000th LADA car since the beginning of the year

On May 15th, AVTOVAZ sold the 100,000th LADA car since the beginning of the year, which is 8,000 cars more than it was planned to sell on the current date. LADA Granta sedan, sold in the most capacious region for AVTOVAZ - Moscow region, became the jubilee, the press service of the automaker reports.

As noted, LADA Granta remains the best-selling model of AVTOVAZ, and in general in the Russian market. Cars of this family accounted for about 70% of LADA sales. In April 2023, 19,899 LADA Granta cars were sold in Russia, which was the best result for the model since entering the market in 2011. Meanwhile, LADA Granta cars with a 106 hp 16-valve engine, which is available for all body types of this model: sedan, liftback and Cross station wagon, have recently gone on sale. At the same time, the situation in the production program of AVTOVAZ is changing: in the near future it is planned to increase the production volumes of LADA Vesta, and the daily rate of assembly of Granta and Vesta will equalize.

"Despite the ongoing sanctions pressure and daily risks with the supply of components, AVTOVAZ confirms its plans to produce 400,000 vehicles in 2023. In May, we brought the assembly of LADA Vesta to a two-shift mode - this will allow us to increase the volume of car production in the coming months. AVTOVAZ team and partner enterprises are constantly working to ensure stable production of cars, by putting a consistently high level of quality as a priority," said Maxim Sokolov, President of AVTOVAZ.

As a reminder, earlier, due to a disruption in the supply of number of components, AVTOVAZ postponed its summer corporate vacation, which was scheduled for three weeks from July 24, to the period from May 29 to June 19. As AVTOVAZ expects, this decision will allow the company to gain time and replace component suppliers, which will ensure more rhythmic work in the second half of 2023.
