Kazakhstan car market grew by 1.5 times in April 2023

In April, 14,379 new cars and commercial vehicles were sold in Kazakhstan, which is 53.6% higher than a year ago. According to the Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB), for four months of 2023, residents of the republic purchased 51,673 cars, which is 62.8% higher than in the same period of last year.

According to AKAB, April showed the highest results in new car sales per month in recent years. Deferred demand associated with the shortage of semiconductors and the post-pandemic period, as well as an increase in production volumes within Kazakhstan, will continue to support a positive trend in the future. Moreover, 2023 promises to be rich in new brands and models that will appear in the local market.

Chevrolet again became the leader in the Kazakhstan car market in April, the result of which was 4,003 cars (+33.3%). The second place was taken by Hyundai, which doubled its sales to 3,608 vehicles. The third place is occupied by Kia - cars of this brand were sold in the amount of 2,092 units (an increase of 2.2 times). Chery follows with 708 sold cars (an increase of 4.2 times). Toyota still finishes the top five, its dealers sold 622 vehicles (-34.5%).
