Almaz-Antey will produce electric micro cars worth up to 1 million rubles

Almaz-Antey concern plans to start production of L-type compact electric vehicles, the preliminary cost of which will be up to 1 million rubles. Mikhail Podvyaznikov, General Director of Obukhov Plant, announced it, by adding that the presentation of model will take place at the end of May at the former Toyota plant in St. Petersburg, where its production will be launched in 2024. At the first stage, it is planned to produce 2 thousand cars per a year, and by 2029 production volumes should increase to 10-12 thousand cars, Finmarket agency writes.

According to the materials of Obukhov Plant, L-type electric car belongs to L7 category and is a compact four-wheeled vehicle weighing no more than 400 kg. On a single charge, it will be able to overcome about 180 km, the maximum speed is up to 90 km/h. The L-type electric car will be equipped with a quick-change battery system. Almaz-Antey calls L-type b2b vehicle a product for corporate fleets, delivery services and city services, sharing.

As previously reported, Almaz-Antey intends to invest up to 37 billion rubles to organize production at the site in St. Petersburg. In 2024, the enterprise plans to start production of a BAZ-S36A11 civilian truck, and in 2026, E-Neva electric vehicles.
