The assembly of Atom electric car will begin in mid-2025

JSC "Kama" (project of Sergey Kogogin and Ruben Vardanyan) on May 11 presented the first functional sample of the Russian electric car "Atom". The assembly of the novelty in the Russian Federation is scheduled for the end of 2024, and by mid-2025 the company intends to switch to serial production and launch mass sales, said Igor Povarazdnyuk, General Director of Kama JSC. But the site for production in the Russian Federation has not been determined yet - including the former Ford plant in Naberezhnye Chelny, while the company is already considering launching assembly in other countries, including China, Kommersant newspaper writes.

The car received a uniform appearance and dimension for all versions, which, according to analysts, will help to reduce the production costs. Atom will be presented in four modifications: single-seat Delivery (analogues - LADA Largus, Peugeot Partner and Citroen Berlingo), two-seat Duo (Volkswagen id3, BMW i3 and Mini Cooper), four-seat Taxi (Volkswagen id3, BYD D1) and five-seat Family (Volkswagen id3, BMW i3, Honda e/Neta U). The mileage of each version on a single charge will be 500 km. Speed characteristics range from 130 km/h for taxi and delivery and to 170 km/h - for the rest. All modifications will be equipped with front-wheel drive and will receive a recovery system. Atom cars will be shipped with the ATOM OS operating system, which can be controlled using an application on a smartphone.
