For four months of 2023, 4119 new pickups were sold in our country, which is 48% higher than a year ago. This is reported by experts of "AUTOSTAT" agency with reference to the data of JSC "PPK" *, by noting that the growth in sales of pickups occurs against the backdrop of a decline in the whole market (-15%). The largest share in the market of new pickups belongs to Chinese brands, which in January-April occupied 36% of total sales volume (a year ago their share was 10%). In second place in this segment there are "Japanese" (now - 28%, a year ago - 55%). Russian manufacturers also got into the TOP-3 with a share of 22% (a year ago it was 29%).

At the same time, despite the serious Chinese "expansion", Russian one remains the most popular model in the pickup market. So, UAZ "Pickup" for four months of this year was sold in the amount of 916 units - with a large margin from the closest competitors: Great Wall Poer (686 units) and Mitsubishi L200 (549 units). We will discuss other trends in the pickup truck and commercial vehicle market in detail on May 25th at the ComAuto - 2023 forum - as part of the business part of ComVex International Exhibition of Commercial Vehicles and Technologies.

* JSC "PPK" ("Passport Industrial Consulting") is a joint venture of JSC "Electronic Passport" and LLC "AUTOSTAT".
