On April 25, Mercedes-Benz stops Mercedes me ID service in Russia. This is reported in SMS notifications sent by the automaker to its customers. According to Gazeta.ru, Mercedes me ID service allows the owner of Mercedes-Benz car to control various car functions remotely via a mobile application. In particular, this way you can start the engine, adjust the temperature in the cabin, find the car in the parking lot, remotely close and open it. Recall that in March 2022, local production and import of Mercedes-Benz cars to our country were stopped, and in October Stuttgart company announced its withdrawal from the Russian market and the sale of its assets in our country to the Avtodom dealer holding. As a result of the transaction, the company received the right to carry out maintenance of Mercedes-Benz vehicles sold in the Russian market, including warranty and post-warranty support, to resume the work of Russian companies and ship spare parts from the central warehouse.

In the near future, Avtodom Group of Companies promises to name its technology partner and share plans to resume production at a plant near Moscow. The most important factor for the company is the preservation of jobs for employees of the enterprise. The terms of deal to acquire Avtodom Group of Russian assets of Mercedes-Benz have not been disclosed. However, earlier it became known that Mercedes-Benz retained the opportunity to return to the Russian market through the buyback of assets in the event that Western sanctions are lifted.
