New luxury car market doubled in Q1

In January-March 2023, only 92 new luxury cars were sold in Russia, which is 48% lower than in the same period in 2022. This is reported by the experts of agency "AUTOSTAT" with reference to the data of JSC "PPK" *. Recall that since the spring of last year, official deliveries to our country of almost all luxury cars have been banned. On the other hand, it is possible to bring them to Russia using the parallel import mechanism. It should be noted that in the first three months of 2023, 33 new Bentley supercars, 17 Rolls-Royce, 14 Lamborghini supercars were sold in our country. In addition, 12 Maserati cars, 9 Aurus cars, 5 Ferrari cars and 2 Aston Martin cars were also sold. The majority (78%) of this "luxury" received a "registration" in the capital regions, namely: 50 units - in Moscow, 14 - in the Moscow region, 8 - in St. Petersburg.

The remaining subjects of the Russian Federation accounted for 20 new luxury cars. In the model ranking of the 1st quarter, Bentley Bentayga SUV became the leader - during this period, Russians purchased 21 such cars. The TOP-3 also included Lamborghini Urus (14 units) and Rolls-Royce Cullinan (11 units).
