Avtotor started production of Chinese SWM cars

Kaliningrad Avtotor plant began cooperation with Chinese company Shineray, launching the production of SWM cars. Three models of crossovers were installed on the conveyor of the enterprise at once: the mid-size SWM G01, the compact SWM G01F and the full-size SWM G05 Pro. According to the press service of Avtotor, in case of the achievement of project economic efficiency indicators, the parties plan to expand cooperation, including the development of a plan to increase production capacity for the production of SWM cars and ensure appropriate investments. Upon reaching the required volume of production, it is planned to deepen the technology and gradually switch to the production of SWM cars in a full cycle - welding, painting, assembly.

The long-term plan for the development of the joint project between Avtotor and Shineray involves a gradual increase in the level of localization, the use and expansion of the range of used auto components from local suppliers, which, in turn, is designed to increase the competitiveness of SWM vehicles in the Russian market. Avtotor and Shineray also intend to develop a plan for the development of production until 2032, which will include an estimate of the proposed investments at each stage of the project in the period 2025-2032.
