The court removed the arrest from all Volkswagen assets in Russia

Arbitration Court of Nizhny Novgorod Region removed the arrest from all assets of German company Volkswagen in Russia in the first claim of the Gorky Automobile Plant in the amount of more than 15.5 billion rubles, and also refused to GAZ to secure the second claim against Volkswagen - for 28.4 billion rubles, the press service of the department informed "RIA News". Meanwhile, Gorky Automobile Plant filed another lawsuit against Volkswagen - in the amount of more than 24.1 billion rubles, demanding to recover losses due to the defendant's termination of engine supplies under the contract dated June 15th, 2017, follows from the published court ruling.

In March 2022, local production and import of Volkswagen and Skoda cars to our country were stopped, and in July 2022, Volkswagen Group Rus closed its office in Nizhny Novgorod and left the production site at GAZ. Recently, Nizhny Novgorod plant has produced Skoda Octavia liftback, Skoda Kodiaq and Karoq crossovers, and Volkswagen Taos.
